The Project in more detail


The consortium is responsible for the design, construction, train cars, signalling, electrification and integration of the new lines to the system. The new lines will feature stations powered by renewable energy and fully automatic trains. The highly aesthetic design reflects Riyadh’s modernity and the city’s architectural heritage.


Multi-disciplinary design is being performed in 10 countries around the globe. The sheer volume of design on such a large mega-infrastructure project requires access to real time accurate information. In addition the procurement process requires hundreds of purchase orders to be developed, tracked and reported on.


The challenge on a project of this size is to ensure the Engineering and Procurement deliverables are coordinated and that accurate progress measurement is performed on a regular basis. This is to allow senior management to make informed decisions in a timely manner.


Making the correct decision at the start of the multi-billion dollar project is fundamental. Due to the sheer size, scope and budget of this project, coupled with the complexity of managing service providers scattered around the globe, Quantivia™ was selected as the best solution to provide the management team with the capabilities to review real time progress and pinpoint areas requiring immediate attention. The software's dashboard has enabled the team to track in excess of ten thousand project deliverables in a clear and simple format.
